Ok, I found a RT rear-end out of an 2003. These have the disc-brakes right? Posi-trac? 3.92 gears? Would it work on a 1997 3.9, 5-speed, 2wd?

Yes to all 3, although we usually call it LSD as "posi" is a GM term. I'd expect the e-brake cables to be a different style for the discs, should be a fairly straight forward swap.
