Hey all.
Question for ya's
I received my Jet Chip Stage 2 in the Mail this week and I want to install it pretty bad, The chips requires 92oct and i still have about 5/8's tank (22gal tank) of 87oct.
I dont drive the truck much and it'd probably take me another 2 weeks or so'ish to drain the tank to 0 to fill up on 92oct as the chip requires so that i can install it and see how it performs.
My question is,... Do you guys think i might beable to get from Wally World one of those $5-$6 bottles of Octane Boost?
Most bottles handles 10-12gal of fuel i believe.
I'm gonna have to make sure i dont get the boost stuff for cleaning and get the ones that actually add Octane to the fuel if they sell such a beast there.
Anyone have any suggestion on any kind of Octane Boost MFG's to purchase?
What suggestions do you have for me and the topic of this thread?

You would have to buy alot of octane booster to raise the fuel from 87 to 92. Plan a whole bunch of errands a good distance apart from each other. Eat the tank of gas up quick and then fill it up with 92....or wait.
Thats my suggestion.

Yeah,... I did a little bit of running around today and having a lead foot all the way.
I think i'll be to E faster than I expected.

LOL,... I still have about 3/8ths of a tank left.
I've had my truck for about 20 months now and still only have 4000 miles on it, so as you can see it's not driven much. I'll try to empty it this weekend.
Trust me,... i can't hardly wait to install the chip to actually see if there is a difference or not... I'm interested to see if it's going to be an expensive paper weight or a Performance Chip that actally does something...

i plan on waiting for a tuner rather than a chip... good luck with it...havnt heard a TON of good reviews, but no one has our truck

Buy just one bottle of octain boost to start with. Reason is when you open it and smell the content, your going to discover diesel fuel. Real octain boost has to be leaded and that is illegal to sell. Stick a pint of deisel in your tank and you will get the same thing. And by the way,2 cans of octain boost in 20 gallons of gas or 2 pints of deisel will hardly make a dent in actual octain. Not a waist though. The diesel will give you a bit of upper cylender lubrication.

I installed the stage 2 jetchip in my 06' H.O., I really haven't noticed a $300.00 difference nor have I had even the slightest change.

with a chip...you need a t-stat and an intake and probly a better exhaust...it all works together as a big boost in performance...chip on stock is like a diamond on a turd (bad analogy)
