How many people on here have a 3.9L V6? Of you, who has decided that money wise, they'll just keep their V6 and beef it up a bit? What kind of numbers are you showing at track and on dyno and what MPG? Please include type and weight if you know it?

Yup, Im just building the v6. So far just home-brew intake, dynomax catback exhaust, MSD ignition coil, taylor wires, TB spacer (ha!), 180 degree t-stat, traction bars, and finally a stage II Jet chip. Hope for headers and TB in the future.

Oh yea, almost forgot, ive got a '00 Regular Cab 5spd. Ive cut a full second off my 1/4.

Word to the wise, TB spacers do nothing for performance. Just put the money towards something else. $90 is just too much to spend on a part like that anyway.(Mine was free)

Gas mileage has never been better!

Its a great system. On a 1-10 scale(bassed on difficulty) it was like a 5. It performs well, and the sound is decent. I was set on dual exhaust before i came across this one, but now this system has worked well for me.

The only con is the tip hangs a little too low for my taste. Maybe a shop could correct the problem with another hanger or something....

Hope I helped a little!

They all go on friday cant wait! Soon to be followed by a nitrous express 75 shot. I love this truck! bernd says with the kits i should be pushing 85-95 horse more than stock at the wheels. (15-20 from mods, 75 from the nitrous) i get about 16 mpg now, should improve slightly after mods, then agian I heard a heavy foot kit comes with these mods?:-)

Getting 180 t-stat this week from Bernd, Soon to get IAT adjuster.

Love my truck. A v-8 will still spank me, but its just kinda cool being the underdog. Gas mileage sucks, my best ever was 17 on the hiway, but my truck's heavy and so's my foot.

I was sad for a while for not getting the v-8, but what the heck, its still a Dak!

<---------------------------------
94 SLT with 32,000 miles on it my senior year and it was stored every winter. I lost a lot of money in the accident due to the guy not having insurance so I couldn't afford or find a V8. I just graduated from school and the truck has 47,000 miles on it. When I get it up to 100,000 miles I throw it in storage and drop a 360 in it while I get a 4x4 4.7 as my daily driver. For mods, read my profile. You can see my old truck pictured next to this one in the photo album, it's the green one.

But for some reason it will peel the tires into second gear pretty good any time I want it to. When I am going about 25 I floor it, it drops to first and peels the tires and the peels them into second gear. No joke. I have even actually burned the tires through Second gear from a 1500 rpm launch off the line. Crazy!! How the hell does this thing do this?

my best run to date is 17.070, but it was about 90 degrees that night, it ran very consistent thanks to Bernd's IAT adjuster even though the temp dropped at the end of the night. my next mods will include a billit grille, clear corners, and 3.90's. Gas milage is around 13 in the city.

Plan to run it Friday night, with Accel cap, rotor, coil, MSD Superconductor wires, & hopefully Autolite plugs (ordered), traction bars and a driveshaft loop in case the traction bars don't work and the wheelhop breaks a u-joint. And with the first cleaning of my IAT.

Getting around 17mpg in the winter, and around 15.5 in the summer with our crumby reformulated summer gas and the A/C running always here in Dallas.

Wish me luck!!! -tk

Hey Margot, I got 1.5 mpg better when I switched the plug wires to MSD Superconductors. Had 50K miles on it so they may have needed replacing anyway, but for $65 you can't go wrong, and undoing those plug wires clips is the hardest part. Still working on the pinging; just installed colder plugs a few days ago and am filling up with regular tomorrow.

Not yet. Those new Autolights seem to be showing another half, but my route's been easier and I think that's why. Coil and cap and rotor didn't do anything for my mileage. And if my K&N intake did, my foot never gave it a chance to show up!

Hope the plug wires work as well for you as for me; I'll be bummed if I just needed new plug wires!

It's bone stock at the moment. Am looking into getting a K+N intake but you can't get a GenII for 96 and older models. I will probably get the open element round filter to sit on top. Good news is it's half the price of the GENII but I don't know if it will work as well.

Currently get 21 mpg no matter where I drive it. I did dust a brand new Explorer Sport Trac. The main reason is he fell asleep at the line but that was enough to barely stay in front.

Plan to mod some more as paycheck allows.
