Oil over $70 a Barrel ... Gasoline at $3.00 a Gallon (and going higher) ...

We all want a LOW COST way to increase our MPG.

Synthetic Motor Oils and Lubricants = Increased Fuel Efficiency (better MPG).

Synthetic Motor Oils and Lubricants are made from pure chemicals with molecular uniformity - usually natural gas - and not refined crude oil which has hundreds of differently shaped molecules.

Because of the synthetic lubricants molecular uniformity, ... they excel in reducing friction which improves fuel efficiency, controling heat and reduceing wear.

It has been proven by Amsoil (and other leading oil manufacturers and suppliers) through use of industry accepted fuel economy tests, field demonstrations (and as witnessed by most of our customers), that switching to synthetic oils and lubricants can (and does) improve fuel economy (mpg).

Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oils reduce friction and drag better than petroleum oils, resulting in significant fuel economy increases. In a 1.2 million mile demonstration, AMSOIL Lubricants showed a 4.5% increase in gas mileage. Other tests have shown increases of as much as 15% under certain weather and driving conditions. Yet, because every vehicle is different, as are driving habits and conditions, it is difficult to accurately project an exact increase.

Since AMSOIL synthetic motor oils create less friction, they help reduce fuel consumption, increasing a vehicle's fuel economy significantly. Operating with AMSOIL, the engine doesn't have to work as hard to turn the wheels, so it takes less fuel to run.

Really simple isn't it ... with synthetic lubricants (vs conventional crude oil lubricants) the engine doesn't have to work as hard to turn the wheels, so it burns less fuel = BETTER MPG!

SPECIAL NOTE: Depending upon your driving habits, conditions, and climate ... switching viscosities can improve fuel economy also. I've observed a MPG increase when switching grades (5w-30 compared to 10w-40).

I have my own results to share with everyone.

My last two vehicles have been Lexus RX's with the onboard computer. On each, I used Castrol for the first 5k +/- miles. I recorded (on the vehicles's computer - not in my head) 16.8 MPG average. I switched to Amsoil and for the next 25k+ miles, my mileage was recorded at 18.6 MPG average - a 10.7% increase in MPG - a combination of city and highway - driving the same commute for all 30k+ miles.

I've even gotten close to 24 MPG on the highway - which is what the window sticker told me I should expect. Is anyone getting anywhere near what your window sticker stated you should expect on the highway?

If not, please consider Amsoil for your next motor oil, transmission and gear lube change.

Shatto, thanks for the positive post.

Heavy Weight, If you are trying to be funny at flaming me or Amsoil, at least get the facts right. Amsoil does not make a 0w-20 motor oil ... only a 5w-20.

Switching to Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oil:

1) Saves money on oil purchases (extended drains)
2) Get better fuel economy (higher MPG)
3) Better protects your engine (wear protection)
4) Reduce our dependence on foreign oil

Sounds like a WIN/WIN/WIN/WIN situation!

Thank you,

It looks like shatto is the one trying to be funny. What kind of idiot runs straight 50w? What kind of idiot would be surprised at a mileage increase going from 50w to 20w?

shatto is either a fool or trying to make you look like a fool.

I know Amsoil doesn't make 0w-20 and I damn sure don't use 90w gear oil in my engine. If I did, what kind of mileage increase do you think I would get if I switched to Mobil1 5w20? 4-5 miles per gallon?

Heavy Weight,
You silly boy, I didn't say the bottom number because it was absolutely unimportant.
When I said Amsoil 0W-30 oil, that describes a specific oil.
As an example; if you changed from whatever you are using to Mobil twenty weight oil, it would not matter a wit what the lower number was, unless we were using it (right now) in freezing weather.
It certainly won't hurt your engine, so why not do it, see for yourself, and report back.

What's your point? You are the one that was using 50W oil. The fact that you didn't give the lower number indicates that it was straight 50W.

As an Amsoil Dealer yourself you should know better.

In addition to switching to synthetic lubricants, I also recommend:

AMSOIL P.I. Performance Improver Gasoline Additive

Ideal for both fuel injected and carbureted systems. Dissolves and removes fuel system deposits and other contaminants for improved power, overall performance and fuel efficiency (increased MPG) in gasoline engines. Reduces PCV and EGR system deposits. Reduces exhaust emissions (tests show up to 90 percent reduction). Improves engine idle, response and starting.

An initial clean-up dose of six ounces for ten gallons of gasoline restores up to 95 percent of an injector's original fuel flow. Periodic maintenance doses of one ounce for ten gallons of gasoline keep injectors and other fuel system components clean.

Performance Features

-- Cleans fuel injectors, intake valves and carburetors
-- Dissolves carbon and varnish deposits
-- Contains properties to control rust and friction
-- Reduces exhaust emissions
-- Increases fuel economy
