Subject: GM on Octane

Message:
There was an article in todays paper (www.cctimes.com) in the Automotive Section, about the Chevy Small Block Engine; from the beginnings many years ago, to Vette's to trucks and between.
At the end the article GM says it is okay to use low octane gas in engines rated for high octane unless they pinged or were being used in high power situations.

Typical of the average newspaper. Old news, and only half the story.

The answer is the same as it always was.
Run the cheapest gas you can without
ping.People at high altitude like me
(over 5000 ft)can get away with it on
pretty much anything stock or a bit
better.

So many problems .... So little time

Why post that half assed GM nonsense on a mopar site ? I hope no one with a forced induction engine (turbo or supercharged) is fooled into thinking it is OK for them to run lower octane...
