Go ceramic. Trust me, it's worth the money. Keeps engine bay temps low and retains the "near new" look for a long time.

There are "stainless steel" headers that CAN and WILL rust. I have a set of uncoated JBA headers that are made of stainless steel and they are now rusted in appearance. Many people think that materials made of stainless steel wont rust or corrode. There are various grades of stainless steels that will rust/corrode and many grades that wont. The grades that wont rust/corrode are more expensive and dont work well with header applications.

YOu have the 4.7?? Headers are not going to do much for performance. Depending on your set-up.

Anyone know if its possible to find headers for the V6 w/out spending $600? I found some for 2something but they were for an older dak. What's the difference between the years for them to change? Also some specify for 2wd and 4wd...why? I'm getting bored so I figure I'll spend time on my truck.

My Gibsons have a rust coloring, I think, hell, I don't know, I never look.
Point you might think about is how much driving you do. My exhaust lasts almost forever because the truck runs a couple hundred miles a day. Less driving=less heat to dry things out.
You might look into wrapping them before installation.

do not wrap the headers on a street truck or car. this will for sure induce condensation!

An example of why it is a good idea to identify your location.
The Weather Channel copied Animal Planet and had a "Wettest City-Driest City" the other night.
Interestingly, San Francisco is one of the top five dryest cities!
How would I know about wrapping and rust?

they are for any 5.2 or 5.9 dakota or ram. 2wd 4wd doesnt matter it will fit them all. im assuming anything 1996 or later because earlier years had EGR but even then they will still fit but just need an extra egr hookup
