do those performance modifications they sell on ebay work? All they do is change the iat readings. probably telling the computer its colder out than what it actually is. anyone have experience with this? thanks

if its just like a little resister that they sell at radio shack than not much. i lost my sensor when in the process of relocating it, so i cant tell you if i replace it to the intake if it would have made a bigger difference. just makes you run richer. my truck underfull throttle runs rich so i don't see how its gonna help unless you have a blower and need the extra fuel.

don't waste your hard earned money!!

Yep, what tool fan said. It is a simple resistor 10k-40k ohms, that makes the computer think that the air entering the chamber is colder, thus allowing more fuel to enter. I ran a 20k ohm for a while, but I really didn't notice a change in performance...just a change in the gas needle!! If your average driving weather temp is around a 100 or so, maybe it will help you, but don't count on it:) Relocate your AIT to the intake piping if you modify anything, the factory mounting is on the manifold, which is like a heat sink in itself, and screws with the true reading.

Food for thought. Just on a whim, I ran my AIT OUTSIDE the engine compartment(attached to frame rail by passenger front tire) to see what difference it would make...it helped a little with the HIGH end...high meaning 2900+ RPM or 95+ MPH, but RUINED my MPG (dropped from 19-20 city to 12.127).

If it doesn't fit, you're using the wrong hammer!

I put one on my truck and did notice a little more power and a little better fuel mileage, true it does cause the computer to add a little more fuel but it does not cause it to run rich because the O2 sensor will not allow that-they run slightly lean from the factory anyway for emissions and if it did cause it to go rich the check engine light would come on, it also advances the timing which is the best part of it and that is where the power and fuel mileage come from.

When dyno-ing my SC's tuner on my 4.7,

we tried a run turning my IAT box from speedtweaks to the ON position.

Under the 93oct, perf setting-

EXACT same Graph.

It may dyno something on a stock motor, it's been posted that it does.
