Hughes was very helpful in the ordering process too. They are good people.

Congrats on the goodies. I just installed a Hughes Stage One beer barrel intake manifold on my truck. They were very helpful with the ordering and they refunded my 300.00 dollar core charge the day they received the old manifold.

It is hard to say because I haven't got any baselines to compare it with. All I've got is seat of the pants feel and with that, there was a little difference. I'd guess like maybe .2 seconds quicker in the quarter mile.

Unfortunately, I won't likely ever be taking this truck down a racetrack and I do not street race.

Really though, that is to be expected. I've still got the factory throttle body on there and the heads are still stock as well. Those are all big bottle necks that will diminish any improvements had by the ported intake manifold. The guy at Hughes said that with the throttle body I'd probably be looking at an increase of 20+ horsepower. I won't be getting a bored out throttle body for at least three months though.

The most beneficial modification I've done to the truck was the bottle of Auto-RX I'm running through with the oil and that 1/3 bottle of Sea Foam I ran through the throttle body. It totally turned the truck around for the better. That was a a whole thirty dollars in materials for that. About half the pinging went away within five miles from the house after I put in the Aut0-RX. And with the Sea Foam, it pinged a lot MORE for the first twenty miles after running it through but after that twenty miles, the majority of the pinging is gone now. The only unusual pinging I've still got is some pre-detonation from 3700-4000 RPM. Though it is intermittent, it sometimes does it in 2nd or 3rd gears. My truck is a 5 speed. I think it might be the spark plug wires arcing to each other or the block, though I am not sure at this point. The plug wires that are on there are the Mopar Performance ones and they only have eighteen thousand miles on them. I've installed wire loom on them everywhere they touch each other or the block.
