Hi. I have a 98 5.2 Dakota sport. Sometimes, when I start the truck, the truck idles fine. Othertimes, the idle fluctuates up and down from normal to high, normal to high. The other time I notice it is when I'm doing anywhere from 40-60mph, and keeping a steady speed. I'll notice the truck rev up a few RPM's, even though I'm on a flat road and not manipulating the throttle at all. Any idea what may cause this odd fluctuation? Thanks.

You can get one at http://www.newmoparparts.com for about $56. Any idea how hard this is to install?

I agree that the TPS is causing your problems..

It's an easy install.. You need torx bits to to it though.. When you get the old one off, just put the new one on the end of the throttle shaft. You have to put it on with a slight offset, to get the internal groove to grab the shaft. Then turn it so it lines up with the screws.. You will see what I mean when you take the old one off.

They all look to be the correct style.. I would probably go with the AcDelco part. Strictly because I haven't heard of the other brands before..

Just my .02

Would the TPS also possibly effect the way my truck starts? Normally, if it's cold and been sitting a while, it will start on the first turn, then sometimes if I shut it off for a few minutes and then go to start it again, the first turn doesn't start it, but it starts right up on the 2nd turn.
