What type of Trany? If it is A/Trans what is the Torq. converters stall speed and your final drive ratio. How much do you want to spend? Mechanical or hydralic lifter, roller cam, how many cfms can your induction system flow.........What rpm or speed limiters are in place and at what setting? We need more info! How fast are the imports you want to beat? Are they running 12's, 11's, 8's in the quarter? What vech. is this engine in?

I HAVE A 5 SPEED TRANNY WITH A 3.55 L/S REAR END. I WANT TO SPEND ANY WHERE FROM 500 TO 1000 DOLLARS. ITS A 96 318, IM PRETTY SURE ITS A HYDRUALIC LIFTER ROLLER CAM, IT REVS TO 570O RPMS AND I DON'T THINK THERE IS A SPEED LIMITER ANYMORE, I WANNA RUN 12'S, AND IM THINKING RIGHT NOW IT FLOWS AROUND 500 CFM, WHICH NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED. IM GONNA DO ALL THE PORTING IN THE MANIFOLD MYSELF AND ALSO GET A BIGGER THROTTLE BODY, I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT SIZE CAM I SHOULD RUN AND WHAT ADJUSTABLE ROLLER ROCKERS?

To get into the 12's, Your gonna need a lot more $$$. I've spent $3000 and I am not even close, unless go with a S/C, which is minimum of $3000 more. Intake and exhaust and then your broke, but you'll be flowing better, and then save. After that, If I were you, I would save for a TB and then do the Rearend. This will cost you close to another Grand.

R/C or C/C?

woahh woahh woahh, Im talking about stuff I can't make. I have already built the best exhuast you can myself for 200 bucks including the y pipe, i had to buy the headers though. Then i built the best ram air intake for 10 bucks from home depot supplies. I moved my battery to the back of my truck, so now i have two 4 inch intakes that breath threw my grill. Im just looking for the best cam and rocker setup that will boost my horsepower up into the 300's with a bigger throttle body, ported heads and manifold{self porting} and getting the heads milled to around 9:6 to 1. anybody have any suggestions. help wanted. JEFF.
