Very possible someone makes an aftermarket tank. Myself I would find someone with a Dakota V8 with the 22 gal tank and do some serious comparing/measuring. The ram trucks and vans had a 35 gal tank . not sure if they all do/did or if an option. My 94 ram van has 35 gal. and my friends 94 ram truck has 35 gal.. My thoughts are to find a tank that will require the least modifacations. Sticking with the Dodge family may be the best way to go.

Yea if you could find a dakota with the 22 gal tank you'll be golden. My Sport has one with my awesome V6 so I dont think size is a problem.

Didn't the 15gal tank come on standard cab trucks? The longer trucks got the bigger tanks because they could fit them. Not sure if a bigger tank would fit on the shorter truck.

Weight is also an issue. That's an extra 60# for fuel, and probably 10# for the tank itself. Depending on what you're doing it might matter. In which case, you're better off using twin tanks with equal draw.

You could move the spare tire, and build a fuel cell for that area. It's behind the axle, so if you're towing that won't work.

yea mine is a 93 4x4 ext. cab and I don't have an owners manual so when I'm trying figure things out about my truck I search the internet and hope that's right. I only put about 144 miles at 12 miles to the gallon on a tank I never run it all the way down because my fuel guage doesn't work very well(not sure if it's the guage or the float but sometimes it shows fuel in the tank and sometimes it will drop off to empty... help). I also run into the same problem with the curb weight I can't find anything thought it might be 3500 but maybe it's 4000 I don't know so could you please help me with both
