I need some expert help - Its tax refund time!
I have my motor all tore apart and have ported and port matched my stock intake and stock heads -
I have a vortech blower. I want to install a cam that works good with my stock(modified) intake and heads - I am also going to get a performance pcm from KRC. What makes a good cam? Summit has mopar cam & lifter kit for about 455.00(part number DCC-5007551) but the lobe seperation is at 119 degrees (can this be right)? I am wanting a nice lope at idle. I will be replacing my rocker arms and springs too - Can I still install 1.7 with a nice cam? I want to do this right the first time - And its a daily driver - HELP !!!

Gotta love them on ramps!

you probably won't be able to use the 1.7RR's. if you want a "nice lope @ idle", you may want to look at a higher stall torque converter and possibly some sort of vacuum reservoir or hydro assist power brakes.

Thx Daddio -
Your right about the 1.7's.
After much research I still am not sure what cam, lifter, rocker arm combo to go with using my stock (ported) heads and intake - Maybe someone on another board can help.

i should have mentioned that you could at least use a stock 1.6:1 ratio Roller Rocker which would be better than just the stock stamped steel ones.

Since your considering a KRC performance PCM, why not give Marty at KRC a call and run your questions by him since this is what he does anyway. He would be a great source of info and might even be able to help you with your parts at the same time.

What are you running for gears ? Its a good idea to match a hotter cam choice with lower gears, rather than just lower stall if you want something that's really going to lope at idle.

I have just e-mailed KRC.
I'm running Richmond 4.10's for rear gears.
What is a Computer-Controlled Camshaft? Is this something I have to be careful about when choosing a cam?

"What is a Computer-Controlled Camshaft?" not sure but maybe it's one that's ground to work with a computer controlled engine as opposed to a carbed engine. i'm sure KRC will put you on the right track. you could also get a second opinion from www.hughesengines.com

That's one possibility, another could be that they are referring to a vehicle with variable valve timing - tough to say without knowing what context the term was used in. Are you getting better answers at the other site you claimed you were going to in another thread ? Somehow I doubt it, since you are still posting here...
