After an extended testing of my truck at a Roush perfomance facility. Roush has determined that the JET Performance chip has caused and overly large amount of fouling in my Cat Converter. JET chips do NOT void emissions warranty, but will cause your Cat to fail much earlier than a stock setup. Which in turn could cause your emissions to fail just after the governmental standard warranty that applies to all vehicles expires.
Please keep this in mind when you are making your purchases.

where are your results from the test? how many cats have you replaced to see if the JEt chips really caused the cat to fail? if its only one cat. then you cant say that the Jet chip caused its failure. so please post the finding that Roush found on here. it has been posted that the dodge computers jsut ignore the chip and reverts to its original programming.

I got a notice from Chrysler that if your cat starts to rattle or if you fail emissions tests to bring it in for replacement free of charge as it is warrantied for 8 yrs or 80,000 miles.

Since I'm not employed by Roush, I have no legal access to their data. Nor could I post any of their test data without their approval.
I was informed by an emission engineer that in all of the tests they performed on chrysler vehicles, that the presence of a jet chip, or any other brand has shown a definate increase in fouling of the cat. That although it passes emissions testing, it increases the amount of crap that they cat needs to scrub prior to exhausting.
Since cats aren't cheap, I thought it best to mention it.

I have used a jet chip for along time and I have had no problems with the cat under my truck. Ill need to see proof of your claim. The only thing that a jet chip can do to cause the cat to burn out is a rich fuel mix and I have never seen a jet chip cause such a bad mix.

jet chips are worthless in our trucks. the computer ignores them after while and goes back to its stock configuration. get a superchip programmer that reflashes your computer.

Dark jedi....... Your right about the computer over coming the chip and putting things back to normai but if you feel like fighting with it, you can disconnect the battery for a bit and reconnect. Chip will work agin for maybe 2 months but goes down hill day by day till you get to this point

$249.00 for a worthless chip! I just don't see it, it was a a mistake when I purchase that chip 5 years ago. I'm, @ 131K on the milage (yes a 2000) and was thinking of adding Headers? What do you all think?

Yea if your chips stops working, just disconnect the negative and turn the ignition to start and hold it for about 30 seconds. It will restart the computer and the chips will work again.... a programmer does a whole lot better though.
