My 89 Shelby Dak had true duel exhaust intsalled by the rpevious owner. It has 2" or 2.25" pipe. One muffler has a leak. I am looking for suggestons for mufflers. I do not want a quiet muffler. The truck is only used for shows and cruise nights.

If you do NOT want quiet. Screw the muffler and go GLASS PACKS.

Believe me that will be the LOUDEST you can get without being straight pipes. And the cheapest as well. Don't buy them fancy mufflers for 3 times the price. Most of them are baffles like a glass pack in a fancy muffler body. Flowmaster is the ONLY unique one though. And if you LIKE that sound go with a Flowmaster. For flow and LOUDness go with glass packs :)

I'm now running dual glass packs with dual 2 1/2" pipes. I just towed my toy hauler this weekend. Didn't lose any power, how about them apples (for the nay sayers!).

But the wife doesn't like how LOUD it is now. Soooo, I may be putting in FlowMasters again. (had a single exhaust Flowmaster before). But if it wasn't for towing and my family riding in this truck for 3 hours each way, I'd stick with the glass packs. It barks so hard, it scares innocent bystanders as well as them punks in them fart cannon sh*t boxes!

I should have mentioned that due to the way my pipes are routed I need mufflers which are off set (opposite sides) on both sides. Th leaves stright through mufflers out.

if ya a little common sense and dont run the guts out of it all the time just gut the cat and leave the shell and straight pipe all the way back, all i got on mine is the cat shell and y-piped over the axle's and turned down and yeah its loud as hell but beats havin a muffler and if ya run the guts out of it might as well by some new valves and lifters and rings but enjoy it either way....2000 3.9

yu go Dak! Got 3 G'paks on my 4.7 AWD QC Dak & I love the sound.Best part is cheap & CUSTOMIZABLE,
& you decide how loud/quiet, by adding, or subtracting paks ie-I have 1 36" after 3rd cat, then spiltter to dual pipes, & 1 ea tailpipe pak w/turndowns. GREAT idle sound, & NO cab roar
UNLESS you stompit, & all hell breaks loose! Got BETTER MPG, & power. Some paks have inlet/outlet at angle to work inplace of offset I/O. Measure length & lookup @ JCWHITNEY.com (have many) sk
