Can someone tell me which of these two tuners are better? Does one have more options than the other? I want to increase power, MPG, adjust speedo for bigger tires. Is this possible with both units?

Also, can someone explain having the computer "flashed" for me. Is this a similar option to the above tuners or totally different?

These 2 units are real compareable. The SuperChips offers 1 more option I believe, I would have to read through all of boths literature. They are both real good, and are about the same price in most cases.

A flash is permanent, and cannot be adjusted. The tuners offer the user the ability to reverse the process and resell the tuner if they decide to sell or trade in their vehicle. Also with the tuner you can adjust things like tire size and such later if changes are made. The SuperChips also doubles as an Engine Code Reader and has the ability to clear any MIL codes that come up.

I hope this helps.

Hypertech has a "dual fuel" system. A performance program for 87 and 93 oct. gas. The Superchips has a 87oct. perf., 91 oct. perf., and a 91 oct. towing mode. Hypertech claims you can tow with either of their modes, and everything elso is about the same. I've heard better things about the hypertech for the 5.9 and 5.2 while the 4.7 people seem to love the superchips. I plan on running 87oct. so I'm going with the Hypertech since people claim to have decent performance on regular gas, while people w/ the hypertech claim to have to use 91oct. to see a performance increase. Hope this helps.

On my 4.7, manual, it was 4hp, for the 87octane program, 2 more hp for the towing on 91 I only have 93 here in TX, and 2 more hp for the perf on 91, running 93.

However, my non SC's dyno, is better than others 4.7s I've seen running perf on 91.

so take it what it's worth. You can make changes w/in minutes, thru your obd2 port.

that's right, a max of 8hp on their best setting.
Which was 227hp and 300ft/lbs, at the REAR WHEEL!
In 4th gear manual, 3.55 rear end.
Quad cab with two piece drive shaft.

(w/o any adjustments for temp, altittude, I'm about 40ft above sea level.)

Add 1 hp/tq when I took out my K&N drop in of my home brew air intake.

I think the greatest benefit from the Superchips was the firmer shifts it gave with my auto trans. The peak HP gain wasn't that much, but it was felt throughout the powerband

No programmer will change the shift points on 5.2/5.9 because it isn't electronically controlled like the 4.7
You have to get a shift kit (such as trans-go)
