KRC Performance does head porting for the V6's for $300. I used to be under the impression that when you ported the heads, it made the valves bigger. What exactly does porting do? Does it require bigger valves? I saw one V6 that had heads with 2.02 valves. How is that accomplished? It's been my experience that bigger valve heads make a huge difference when coupled with a cam. Any info would be great!

Porting involves removeing excess material from the intake and exhaust tract to make the head breath better. It can also involve reshapeing the combustion chamber. It is labor intensive and you must know what you are doing it is alot like sculpting with steel to get the angles right. You can also extrude hone after hand porting to get the surface as smooth as a polished crank journal.
