I have a 3.9 5speed ext.cab 4x4 and I wanted to know if I could put in a 4.7 or 5.9 and keep the manual tranny?

Go with the 318 and you can keep everthing. 360 is going to have too much power for ur tranny.
4.7 wont mount up and you'll have to get a kit for it and dunno if it will even mount directly to ur tranny.

318 - What is your source for that info ? 4.7 will mount up according to my source at the dealer, either v8 will need a new PCM.

Depends on what tranny you have. Since its a 4X4 I would asume that its the NV3500 which would hold up fine up to 300 HP. If you have the AX15 it would be another story.

Im sure the tranny is the nv3500, but the more I look into it i'll need new front suspention as well as guages and PCM so I might end up with more work than its worth. Though it is worth it.
