The transfer case uses the same oil as the front and rear diff, as far as I know. You'll see when you drain it. I don't know about the additive being in the front diff, since it's not limited slip I wouldn't add it there. Just my opinion.

I your tranny auto or manual? I have a 93 4x4 5.2 with auto and my t-case uses ATF. I changed mine and didnt use Chrysler approved tranny fluid in my t-case but havent see/heard any problems except for a slight leak where the rear drive shaft is. Mine is the NP231.

auto trans... it's also just easier to buy l type of diff fluid in bulk - i need l/s additive in rear so if it dosent hurt the front why not put it in ..

The LSD Additive comes in a separate container. You can use the same diff. fluid but you only need to buy one container of the additive...Also my 97 4x4 5.2 with 5 speed uses ATF in the transfer case also.

i beleve the trans case is dex3/mercon atf fluid/dont see how diff fluid with limited slip additive would hurt the non limited slip front diff but could be wrong.. good luck
