What year is your truck?
What engine does it have?
Is your truck an auto or manual tranny?
Any other mods?

I would go with a superchips and buy a K&N filter. Honestly on my 5.2 the FIPK didnt do all that much. its all in the filter

How would you use the K&N filter without the FIPK setup - just come up with your own tubing? That would definitely be a lot cheaper.

If you want a "CAI" yea you can get you're own tubing. You can also just buy a K&N drop in.

There are very few changes you can make that will actually improve fuel mileage. These trucks suck fuel and that's just the way they are. About the only things that are somewhat cost effective are a home made cold air induction, tannou cover, and a computer reprogram. Everything else gets to the point that there's no return on your money for 80-100K miles.

You best improvement will come from changing your driving habits. Getting the hole shot is pretty fun, but it's also pretty expensive.

Latey I've started shutting off the engine whenever I hit a yellow light. Some of the light cycles around here are pretty long. My commuting mileage went from 11 to 16, almost a 50% improvement. The down side is I'm sarting the engine 10 times a day instead of 2.
