You'll get minimal - if any - power improvements from exhaust mods. The stock exhaust is pretty darn good. Long tube headers, crossover, and true duals will give more power, but mostly at the top end, not much bottom end torque. You may even lose some torque, so be carefull there.

Be sure and check local emission laws before making any changes.

Coming out right in front of the rear bumper is fine. Make sure it turns down and is cut off even with your bumper so as not to smoke it up. The '02s had terrible 'Y' pipes on them and will pick up a lot of torque and horsepower going to duals. A cross over isn't neaded, but helps a tad, not much. Leave the factory pre-cats on it for emissions purposes. These are very high flow and will still alow you to pass sniffer tests. The Gen IV Daks do not even have the big 3rd cat anymore, so obviously they aren't needed. Also the Gen IVs have an improved 'Y' pipe on them. Even Mother MOPAR realized their mistake here.

In real world experiance I picked up about 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile by going to true duals, that is about a 30+ horse power improvement. That is MINIMAL POWER gains right?

Enjoy the duals, and have fun scratching up your truck on the trails.

Later,
Lynn

What if I replace the stock Y-pipe. Could I yield hp and trq increases comparable to a true dual setup? Im thinkin of runnin headers with a modified y-pipe and then a hi flow cat with a maganflow muffler dumped right before the rear axle. I could do all that for $500, would it be worth it for my 4.7?
