I recently tried to buy one of the HO intake manifolds from dodgeparts.com. Here's what they sent me;

"Yes we ship to APO address this manifold has been superceded to the following list of parts. this does not include freight Thanks Doug Manifold $92.04 2 screws $2.90 plug $1.72 8 gaskets $94.02 total $194.02"

My question is, do I need all this stuff, or are the fine folks at dodgeparts.com trying to get a few more bucks out of me? I thought the little manifold gaskets were part of the manifold itself. After reviewing some of the posts on here, I can't find anyone who has had to attach 8 of them little blue suckers on, and just to be honest, I'd dread the idea of trying to get them almost on, then having one fall into the head.

If your existing gaskets are in good shape, you shouldn't need new ones, but since you have a 2000, new ones might be a good idea. There is also a gasket between the throttle body and intake manifold that sits in a channel in the manifold. Make sure the new manifold includes this one.
There are two plugs. One is a bayonet style, and fills a hole on the head end of the intake runner for cylinder #5. A new one of these would be good. The other one is just a rubber cap for an unused vacuum port on the manifold near the throttle body. Make sure you know which one you're getting.
The screws are used to fasten the supports for the heater hoses where they cross the manifold. You should be able to use your existing screws, if the new manifold includes the captive nuts.
Take a good look at your existing manifold, and except for the gaskets, you'll be able to see what I mean.
