 Subject: Rear End Gear Size?

I have a 2001 4.7 auto with overdrive. How do I find out what size rear end I have and what size do you recommend for me. I want to gain performance, but I also do quite a bit of high way driving, so I dont want to go to big and get killed on gas.

I just provided most of the info you're looking for on the "ready to buy " thread on this board; check it out. Don't sweat the gas milage, I recently went from 3.55s down to 4.10 gears and gained almost 1 mpg - seems motor is more efficient at higher revs, at least up to a point.
