How much money are 3.92s, and what is the usual average price for labor, if I cannot put them in myself, for a 4x4 truck?
I am swapping my 3.55s for 3.92s

As for labour , ask around your locale ..
You don't say where you are !
So how can anyone give you the average ??

If you are patient you can find a set of used gears on ebay or something and probably get them pretty damn cheap. You'll also need an installation kits with shims, sleeves, seals, etc.
As for labor, don't even think about putting them in yourself unless you have some considerable knowledge on the subject. If you mess up putting in the gears they're gonna be rough, loud, and last only a few hundred or so miles. I asked around here in Kansas, cheapest quote I found was about $300 for labor, just for the rear. Front may be even more since it's harder to get to.

Personally I wouldn't buy used gears. But hey. Labor in California was around $300 to put in my 390s. Your truck will be in the shop for the better part of the day.
