I have a 99 Dodge Dakota R/T that I have done a top end rebuild on. Bigger cam, ported heads and intake, bigger throttle body, intake and exhaust, plus a BG computer flash for the build. The problem is that I am running rich and I cant figure out why. I had 24 lb injectors and went to 22 lb. It is still a little rich but the stock 19s are too lean. Any ideas what my problem is???

Either a bad O2 sensor or the computer was flashed too rich.

spend the 50 bux and get an AF dyno run... thatll tell you what size injectors you need to be running. dont trust the AF guage (if thats what you're using)... its unreliable and a POS.. i have one myself

Did u change your fuel rail? if u havnt done that what u should think about doing is getting the bigger rail with the duel feed kit from gs motorsports and staying with the stock injectors. i have the same upgrade that u have and i dont have a problem

My engine wasa built by Dan Arcand (The Fastman). He said that there might be a bad O2 sensor but it is not throwing any codes. kamsrt, I bought the headers and exhaust from GS Motorsports, but did not think about the fuel rail because Dan suggested (and he does with all the builds like mine) bumping up to 24 lb injectors but they were still too much so I tried the 22s and they are still too much.

baileysrt......Yes....if it was a O2 sensor it would throw a code, i bought all of my parts from dan but i did the work my self. Dan is the man but ask him if u should get the fuel rail with the duel feed kit from gs motorsports and keep the stock injectors, cuz that what he said i should do and i did i have no problems. Another question Your crank i s stock right you didnt do the 408 kit right. If u didnt ask him what i said and see what he says and get back to me

All 1996-99 R/T 5.9 V-8 engines use injector 53030778. Our flow tests show the flow at 22.5lbs/hr at 43psi (3bar).
We sell an upgraded Bosch fuel injector that has an identical flow at 22.5lbs/hr.
