 Subject: I beat a Reg cab dak today.....

This Black RC dak, gen3, with JEGs stickers in the rear window, and a Louisiana plates, passed me on the hwy, moving good. He had it lowered, it looked like a R/T, but didn't have the decal, maybe he lost it. He had a nice sounding exhaust system too. It must have been a 5.2, or 5.9, cause it had v8magnum stickers on the fenders, and it didn't say R/T, and a 4.7 doesn't have badging. It also had a nice hood, not a scoop, but a raise center portion like the old cowl induction hoods.
Going home, 288 south of Houston, I pulled even, I nailed it in third about 65mph, so did he and even chirped the tire! I pulled away from about 65-115, he may have gave up, or hit his speed limiter. I had over 2 lengths on him! In my QC!
Then I slowed down and we opened our windows, and I was saying 'you got beat by a QC!', he just kept grinning and looking back at his dash and back at me and my QC. At least he was cool about it.

I didn't expect to beat this nice sounding, nice looking, v8 REG CAB! Cool, if this guy is reading this, thanks. Your truck looks and sounds good.

'00 4.7's had the V8 emblem on the fender...so its possible.
It's always fun to run around with other Dak's, I always get looks when I load mine full of wood and go lead foot around people. :)

my 04 dak 3.7 came from the dealer with NO v6 emblems,
i do have a sweet sounding exhaust though and people mistake it for a 3.9 or an RT, i hope some fool dosnt smoke me and tell all his friends he beat a v8 since he didnt see any emblems.

I beat my meat today.......
Going home, 288 south of Houston, I pulled my meat out in my QC! I started fast, then I slowed down after I finished. I opened my windows to cool off and I said to myself 'you got beat in a QC!', I just kept grinning while looking at my mess on me and my QC. Good times......good times!

He HAD decals, I thought I said that, v8Magnum decals, It looked just like an r/t, w/o R/T stickers. Just the JEGS stickers plastered on the rear window.
And sorry, I thought the 4.7's never came with badging on a dak, my 01 doesn't have any, but now that I think about it, I can remember 4 yrs ago when they talked about stopping the badging in 01, for the 4.7.
And Gary, I was alone, made sure there was alot of open, divided hwy(median and all), and no traffic. I would never jam by other cars, swerving and changing lanes, etc. The only real numbers I can brag about are dyno numbers. I didn't buy my QC, SLT, to take to the track.
It was another Dak, w/ loud pipes, lowered, had to do it, thought I'd loose.

in 01, all daks lost the "magnum", "V6" or "V8" badging... not just 4.7's.
seriously, did someone think that the 4.7's got different fenders without the two holes in it for the badging? Wouldnt that of been great for production.
R/T's still kept their "R/T" badging thru production.

Badging.....no stinken RT emblems here ..replaced them with the nice V6 badges..lol....well maybe the nice spintech race muffler dumped under before the axle gives it away....either way it great when the other guy thinks your runnin a lil 6......have won many a 6 pack this way........I'll be looking for that QC between SA and Houston :) my rear window says "Got Balls"
and the other side has a Calven wearin a HOG dew rag peeing on the "Rice Burners"

Look for the Red Club Cab with Alamo Performance in the back window and DakotaTrucks.com on the tail gate with a roll pan. Just a 4.7L. Between SA and any place around here, Houston, San Antonio Raceway, Austin. I'll be around. And oh, I have absolutely no badging except for the ones that pay my bills as stated above.

We need to get a nice South Texas, or just plain Texas meet together this Summer. Somebody hit me up about this so we can start planning. my e-mail is lynn@dakotatrucks.com.
On another note, the Texas IHRA Nationals are this weekend at San Antonio Raceway, so I will be there Friday and Saturday all day Shooting some pictures. (not racing cause my ride isn't ready yet) If you are close to The Alamo Drop in.
