Subject: Cuttin out on acceleration
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2002 Quad cab 4.7 with 65000 miles, and the problem I am having is when you stomp it down from a stoplight, it takes right off and then it starts woom woom cuttin out. Just like it runs out of fuel. I cannot figure it out. It has new plugs, new air filter, and I have cleaned the throttle body. Any Ideas?

That is the part that sucks....its in the fuel tank. Have to pull the tank or, easier, tilt the bed...and pull the module out..some have a filter/regulator on top, and a screen in the bottom. Some even do not have a replacement screen on the bottom of the fuel module...have to replace the WHOLE module...300-400 bucks from the dealer.

I would say a fuel filter. The factory ones usually only last 40,000 miles.
Don't the 4.7 dakotas have two filters, one in the tank and one in the fuel line????
