I have a 99' 5.2 and had to replace the oil pump at 90,000 miles. The pickup was clogged with carbon deposits. I asked if they could flush the motor, and they told me that it could cause the new oil pump to get clogged again. Is this true and should I flush it?

Flush it! Either have it professionally done or use Auto-Rx. Don't use those 5 minute flushes otherwise you do run a chance of plugging the pick up screen again.
