As summer approaches I have decided to upgrade the cooling capability of my '03 R/T, and will be installing a Dodge Viper electrical fan soon. I had one of these fans in my '01 R/T and would like to repeat the parts/process I used on that truck, so I contacted a Dodge Viper e-fan distributor that I have done business with in the past and arranged for another discounted price on fans.
Before you read any further - this discount is for purchasing only a bare electrical fan, only those people who have basic fabrication and wiring skills should purchase this product. People who buy a bare fan will need to expect to modify its housing with a dremel or cutting tool to clear Dakota/Durango radiator accessories, some simple mounting brackets will need to be fabricated, you will need to purchase and install wiring and high-amperage relays under the hood, and a switch will need to be installed inside of the truck for (optional) manual control. Owners of 00+ Dakota/Durango trucks who wish to remove their factory radiator shroud will also need to purchase a coolant overflow tank and windshield washer fluid tank.
I do not have the time nor interest in becoming a full-service e-fan distributor - you will need to source and purchase your own accessories for this fan. If you want to purchase a fan kit which contains most or all of the parts and fabrication required for installation, then you should immediately contact Sam Parthemer at www.socaldakota.com and buy one of his quality kits instead.
