Subject: Magnaflow Cat-back?
IP: Logged

Message:
I've got a '99 Dak 4x4 / SB / RC with the 5.2 V8. I'm thinking about a Magnaflow Cat-back system. I would be interested in any comments or observations about Magnaflow or their product.

thanks in advance,

Larry

I have the Magnaflow system on my 98 Durango 5.2 and it sounds great. It has a nice smooth, mellow tone. Improved throttle responce too.

I had a impco muff with a manaflow stainless tip done a few days ago I left that combo up to the tech. Man i could not be happier. With the stock stuff I could peel out, only around corners. with the new cat definite hp gain as the tires can now slip if I am not careful and the sound always makes me get a woody. Probably best hp gain for price short of a volant intake. that is going to be next unless someone has a better Idea.

The magnaflow web site talks about "WIDE OPEN PERFORMANCE" and "straight-through with no restrictions." So the mufflers are essencially the same as the old "glass packs" . . . Note that for me, quieter is better.

So just how loud is this system?

Not to be too off topic, I'd love to have that exhaust but my truck is a 96 SB RC 4X4. How much do the 2nd gens differ from the first as far as chassis config? would that fit my truck?

i have a magnaflow hi-flow cat 2.5" and a flowmaster deltaflow 50 series 2.5" in/out.
the flowmaster gave a nice sound but sound is everones own preference. the magnaflow cat gave my 3.9 v6 the best power boost for the money.m what ever you do get a good quality free flowing exaust system with a reputation like magnaflow or dynomax ect...
