Subject: New Dual Air Intake

Message:
Hey, I recently came across this product from Pro Zen Motorsports. http://www.pro-zen.com/

They feature a dual pipe intake with tig welds and 2 filters which dump into the TB. is anyone familiar with these new intake types? I would think the air would become more turbulent and hinder performance flowing across the two filters. Is this intake better or similar than the standard one inlet? Any comments/reviews would help as I look for an intake for my 4.7L 2004 QC 4x4. Thanks!

It's not the turbulent air you should worry about. It's the hot air rising from the exhaust that would defeat the "cold air" purpose.

I have one but by a different company , works well but I bought it with the intent to use the cuda style hood and open the vents for cold air to blow directly on them

I have made several home made air intakes for my GM trucks, and have tested them at the drag strip. The duels will provide more air volume, but do to the design these will bring in very hot air which is less dense and will not make good power. If the inlets were placed outside of the engine compartment and sealed off to only incoming cold air, then your in business. I have run 14.85 @ 87 mph without air intakes and 13.98 @ 94 mph with. This was in a 1979 GMC 2500 4,500 lbs with a stock 350 with reworked Q-Jet, headers and a advance curve in the HEI.
