My Dakota's steering seems to be extremely loose and I was wondering if there is anything to tighten it up? I thought that there might be something mechanically wrong with it, but I took it to a mechanic and he changed the ball joints, but it still wonders all over the highway. Any ideas?

Do you think that will help? I figured that it would be something that needed to be replaced or who knows. Thanks for the response.

Yea, check the pitman arm and idler arm...not to mention the tierod ends. Turn the steering wheel far enough to see in the wheel well and then have a friend wiggle the wheel back and forth, repeat of the other side. Oh, yea, and pray it's not tierod ends...mucho dinero. I just went through the Pitman arm replacement...I think it was less than $100 to have it put on (got the part at Advance for less than $40, had a local shop do the install).
