Alright guys I've been wondering for a while about getting a NOS system for my truck. It is a 2000 4.7L with a Automatic. I was wondering if the drivetrain in this truck would be able to handle a 50-75HP boost?? Also I'm looking at superchargers, I really like the Kenne-Bell, but are there any real advantages to that over a Paxton or ATI Procharger? Thank you in advance..

From the info I have collected, Kenny bell is the only ones who make a SC for a 4.7L. In addition its the only one (if Paxton or ATI Procharger makes one) that uses the scrw type compressor. This will give you full bost ALL THE TIME. With the centrifugal types they act like a turbo and may have higher boost but only at MUCH HIGHER RPMs.

The way I understand it the 45RE transmission is going to be used with the new hemi engine. It will have differnt programming and that is about it. They are calling it the 45REF.

I've really been thinking about this too. Whats a good company to buy from? I want a kit that is fairly easy to install, if you know what i mean. I've kinda searched the 'net for stuff on nitrous, but there isnt much info on it for the 4.7s. Im actually really serious about, and i'd like to know what my options are (still gotta save on that KB-SC)...

Unfortunatly, NOS & 4.7 is not a very good match. The pistons are only cast. Not only that but the top ring is very close to the deck of the piston. That leaves a very weak surface. The drivetrain on your truck would be fine for handling that much NOS. The tranny is fairly stout and it difficult to hurt a carbon driveshaft. The 9.5" rear would be recommended though. I would stick with a SC.

Does anyone here have a Sc on the 4.7? Will the internal engine parts handle the SC alright? I would prefer a SC over NOS definetly.

Nitrous is the cheap way to go. The shot you
are running is so small i wouldnt worry about
the clearance or the drive train, but i would
stick with the 50 shot at best with the 4.7 l , ice
been told the v-6's handle nitrous better than
the 4.7, but i do agree if you have the money
go with the sc.
Just my opinion,
Josh

I have ordered the NX system from NitrousWarehouse and should have it next weekend. John said that it is fine to run it up to the 150hp setting, that all this talk of the pistons not taking more that 75hp is wrong. Leaning more to believe him with all his knowledge of nitrous over just bench talk. But will start it out on the 75hp and see how it goes from there. How much HP does the Kenne Bell SC add??? If any of you have questions over nitrous, you should really call Nitrouswarehouse and speak with John Stewart.
