Actually, I think the new looks better than the Gen IV and the new pumped up 4.7 sounds pretty good too. They go back to producing a RC and I might consider another Dakota. I don't know why anyone would try and compare 4.7 Dak to a Colorado. Just weird.

"hell yeah" - the one thing you're right about is that I should know better since I am 50. Yup, that's why I posted what I did - because I know better than you. Thought you might like an update on the 3/4 ton Chevy we have at work ( the size truck you recomend for what I can haul with my Dakota with no problem). The transfer case in the 4 year old Chevy just gave up the ghost; and we're learning the Chevy's are getting a reputation for this. So I volunteered my 8 year old Dakota to haul my 20' flatbed on a 200 mile round trip for them, and then used it to plow out the campus for the foot of snow we just got. The Chevy ? It's in the shop with parts ordered, and no idea when it will be working again ;-) I just hooked it's 8' plow to my Dakota and took care of business.
I never compared my Dakota to a diesel, don't know where you got that idiot idea - only said it was better than a Colorado.
Live and learn; these are the kind of responses you will get when you come to a Dodge board to talk trash !

OK-OK already this post is old as dirt and the chevy colorado is the biggest i mean biggest piece of $H!T out there, i work for chevy and they suck, so many problems where to begin, cant get out of there way for one and the heads go with in 30000 miles, cheap $h!T, so stop already with the post, i own 2 R/t dakotas and couldnt be happier, the straight six five a four that chevy produces, ie 4.2L, 3.5L and the 2.5L are complete JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
