 Subject: JET 2 W/STOCK T-STAT?

I HAVE THE 4.7 LITER, AND I WANTED TO INSTALL THE JET STAGE 2. I WROTE JETCHIP AND ASKED THEM IF IT IS OK TO RUN THE CHIP WITH THE STOCK T-STAT AND THEY SAID THAT I SHOULD BE OK AS LONG AS I USED PREMIUM FUEL. I WANTED TO GET ANYBODY'S INPUT ON THIS IDEA OR IF THEY EVER TRIED IT, WHAT HAPPENED? I HAVE THE AIR-INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM MODIFIED (FLOWMASTER 40 SERIES, Z-TUBE)
ANYKIND OF INPUT IS WELCOME.

I have my 180 stat but have not yet had a chance to install it and have been running my chip since the day I got it. No problems at all. I know a few other guys who have rub their chip without the stat as well with no problems, but once they put in the stat they said they noticed a lot of improvement. I think to get the most out of the chip you need the stat to keep the engine a tad bit cooler. With your exhaust and z tube you should get some good improvement with the chip, and should be even better with the stat.

BASICALLY THE ONLY REASON THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO PUT A STAT IN IS BECAUSE I DONT KNOW WHERE TO BUY THE GASKET FROM (I ASKED THE GUY AT AUTOZONE FOR A GASKET FOR A 4.7 LITER AND HE JUST GAVE ME A BLANK STARE). WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR GASKET?

I ordered my t-stat from speedtweaks and it came with a gasket, but everyone I have talked to said they didnt need the gasket, that the stock one is rubber and it pretty much stays on and you reuse it.
