The PRS is supposed to be a stand-alone engine managment system. They also carry some piggy-back systems.

That system look pretty interesting. I think the piggyback system would also be a great choice for someone looking to improve performance, reliabilty and safety of their boosted engine. Any idea on prices.

7-800 dollars comes to mind, but I can find a current price. Here's one that sold on the internet - http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1216741&postid=12097932

They seem to be pricy, but if they do everything you want and saves a lot headaches, it's not bad.

Back in the 80's someone started to publish a mag devoted to automotive computers and electronics. Anyone know if this mag still exists? It's really tough to find information in this area.

Thats a decent price for the piggyback system, I may have to look into that further. I just bought an 04 explorer, I was thinking about s/c'ing that down the road. The 4.0ltr engine could use a little help in the power dept.

Sure install away and do it yourself, not saying it can't be done, but having to ask the most basic of questions and I would beware of bolting on a supercharger.

Air/Fuel ratio is unforgiving better hope its right or you will find out the hard way.

....and yes I PAID to have my ATI Procharger installed.

It's ok, really. I even know people that pay to have their oil changed.

Most people prefer to have vehicle service (of any kind) performed by someone with atleast a minimal amount of experience and some training, no matter the skill level required to perform the specific task.
