Subject: Best All Around Tire?

Message:
I am looking for a set of new rear tires for my 1995 Dakota with R/T rims. The one's I have are almost bald and with winter coming around the corner I need a tire which will handle the wet/snow here in Ohio. I was looking at the Goodyear Eagle RS-A from DiscountTire.com for $137 in the 275/60-17, but now I am hearing that this tire is horrible in rain/snow. The problem is that I am on a budget. Any ideas wounld be greatly appreciated.

Or maybe I should try the Nitto NT-404 Extreme Force SUV in a 275/64-17 for $128 a tire. I think the 31" is a little big, but it should fill out the fender well very nicely.

you could get 15" steelies and a pair of decent snows for the 17" money and worry about it in the spring.

I have Michelin MTX M/S. Great all around tire, and should last around 60K miles. Drove 600 miles through ice and snow two weeks ago. Great tire.

Any one tried the Yokohama Geolandar A/T Plus II? I have read good things from others and was wondering if anyone has tried them? I would get the 275/65-17.

Yeah I hate it when I get a square tire. They just don't seem to let my truck run as good as it should.

Go to tirerack.com and you can do a comparasion of all brandname tires in your size. They are all rated in dry tracktion, wet, snow,...
I printed out the cost from tirerack.com and went to my tire store and asked them to match the price and they did!

Hope this helps ya

Bridgestone Dueller A/T Revo makes all Goodyears look like junk. These are the best all around tires I have ever owned. Read Tire Rack for the true info.

Stay away from Goodyears I work at a Chrysler dealership and thats what Chrysler uses for factory tires on everything. Like the name suggests, Goodyear "good for a year." My personal preferance are Bfgoodrich Long Trail T/A's. Good all around tire, good price too.

The set of nitto terra grapplers I have work great in adverse conditions. I think that they were only about $125 a tire at discount tires. The drive like the stock tires and perform a lot better.
I have 265/70/17
