Subject: 70mm TB anyone?

I was looking thru December's STREETTRUCKS MAGAZINE and saw an ad for Mac Perfomance. They are selling a 70mm TB for the 4.7l and are asking $199.50 for it. From the pics in their ad and on their web sight it looks like a BBK nock off. Not a bad price since you don't have to deal with a core or core charge. Their web
site www.macperformance.com and part #3474.

I've seen some pictures of these before. They look good, but it's really difficult to tell. They are a reputable company and if you are not satisfied with the workmanship, returning it unused should not be a problem.

It's not a very complex part, being somewhat easier to make than a two or four barrel TB. If I need one, I certainly would take a good look at their product considering the price.

I've got a BBK 70mm. I got it when it was first released and payed $250 for it. $200 on a throttle body is a good deal. I'm sure it cast aluminum. But if all you want is more air and not some shiny TB then cast aluminum is the way to go. It does the job.
