I have been trying to weigh the pros and cons of this pcm flash. I have heard the b&g m1 flash works great but i was want to hear from any body who has the flash done. I do have some mods that should work well with the flash. I also know the flash turns off the torque management system for the transmission and was curious how much of a effect this has on torque increase. gibson headers and high flow exhaust, crower 1.7 roller rockers, fastman 52mm thottle body, m1 2bbl intake, k&n fisk, msd blaster coil,8.5 super conductor wire, brass accel cap and rotor, brembo slotted rotors, hawk performance pads, edelbrock ias performer shocks, 2000 DAKOTA R/T

i have this flash. i went to the track right after i got it and pulled exactly the same quarter mile time as before. however, it was 40 or 50 degrees hotter outside and much more humid than the time i raced before i had the flash so it def made a big improvement. all i have is every bolt-on. 14.2 at 97.7mph. stock heads, cam, gears, and torque convertor. no nitrous, turbos, or blowers on my '02 r/t.

I also have the B&G flash. There are some minor improvements with the timing advance and turning off the torque management. The price was outrageous and if your dealer flashes your PCM you will lose the settings. When there is competition the B&G flash will either drop in price or become a thing of the past. In short, you are paying a huge premium for the flash.

dam for real?? i did mine about 7-8 months ago if only i woulda waited. they used to charge 630 though and that was way too much. if u dont have it, and they are askin 330 for it, i would definitely go for it. really wakes up the truck especially after the M1 manifold.

oh and by the way, the boltons u have are very similr to mine all the way down to the gibson headers. except i dont have msd ignition but i do have good wires. since u already have the m1 u will really want this flash im tellin u man its def worth it and will give u more low-end and high-end power. and for $330 its the best thing u can possibly do to ur truck at ur current level of power output.

So i think i have been talked into the b&g flash. With the mods i have when i get the flash should i be able to easily light up the tires after the torque manament is gone? I ask this because my truck will spin the tires but seems to quickly bog down once they spin just a little. I would have to think this is the torque manament system kicking in when i loss some power after a little wheel spin what do you guys think.

Sounds like I'm comparing apples to oranges to the rest of the posts here - I have a '00 5.9 QC AWD....so for what it's worth my truck HAULS ASS w/the B&G! I had a Superchip...can't touch the B&G. I've not done the M1 Intake either. RE: the torque; w/the AWD I don't have traction issues, but experienced the "bog" you mentioned until I B&G'd it. I paid $430 and it was still worth it. Was the best bang/buck - plus it's easiest mod!

I flashed a PCM I bought from a Durango off eBay, which worked on the Dakota, and sent it to Dave @ B&G for the M1 Flash. So I have the original for towing, too.

with the M1 manifold, this B&G m1 flash really shines. i can burn the tires a lot more now than when the truck was completely stock which is surprising considering the m1 is a top-end manifold
