Go to www.socaldakota.com. He is selling a drop in kit with a viper fan specifically made for the Dakotas. All wiring and brackets, etc. Good piece of work, especially if you do not feel like trying to figure out what relays to use and how to wire up the fan.

I thought the the 01's came with one. Mine did, and without the belt driven coutch fan, it works great byu itself.

I have setups for both 97-99 3.9/5.2/5.9 Dakota, and 2000-2004 3.9/5.9L Dakota.

True the 2000+ have an electric fan with the clutch fan-- but the stock electric fan cannot keep up under towing, or hot weather areas...

The 2000+ setups get new washer bottle/pump, and Moroso overflow bottles (as you'll lose the OEM radiator shroud that contains the 2000+ factory stuff), and fan turn on by AC or temp (210 F) w/ manual selection. All wiring, instructions, everything you need to put it in.

The 1997-1999 setups retain the washer bottle and overflow, but needed a electric fan temp controller-- so I use the Painless wiring configuration which is adjustable-- kit comes complete ready to drop in-- with all wiring, brackets, switches, relays and 50 AMP fuse.

Kits take 2-3 weeks to deliver currently-- as they are built, then shipped.

Been running mine for nearly 10 months, have 2 that have been in place and running for over a year with no issues. Many happy customers.

Working on the 92-96 configuration now-- the 4.7L configuration is almost completed (washer bottle issue).

:^)

Sorry, the website isn't updated at quickly as I'd like (I do the website myself). It's the same price as the 2000+ kit--- When anyone orders off the website, I confirm with them the model and year--- so they get the correct kit.

Go ahead and email me, and I'll give you all the info.

I have underdirve and alt. pulleys already
installed on my 99. Does any one know if the
electric fan conversion would draw too much
power. With the larger alt. pulley there is less
power going to the battery as it is, and I dont
want something draining it. Will they work
together?????

I run the ASP underdrive crank pulley-- and no issues.

Going with both will run you down to about 9 volts on the charge cycle at idle, full load--- 1100 rpm = 14 volts full charge...

If you have a good battery, and don't sit and idle a bunch-- you should be fine. Otherwise, dropping back to the stock Alt. pulley will cure any issues.
