I just had the transgo kit put in my 99 R/T two weeks ago. I had a shop do it, cost me $150, but they also changed the transmission filter and fluid. I have to have them adjust it because in stop and go traffic it's a real hard shift from first to second. I don't know about 1/4 mile times but I noticed better and quicker take off. Hope this helps

the thing with transgo is that it is only the kit, you still have to bring down your Valve body and modify it. Which in return you cant go back to original if you dont like it. Hey if you want a transgo kit..Ill sell you one un-used for $50. On the other hand check the Fastman he got throttle bodies and tranny kits he is a good people person and will get you the right stuff, he dont sell the kit..he sells the whole valve body already modified...a little $$ (350) that i leave for you to decide..if you want my trango kit..just e mail me efmc1492@sbcglobal.net

I had to have my line pressure tuned down on my shift kit because the foward clutch pack wouldnt grab in such a harsh shift under WOT. But once they put in the shift kit you will definitely have to adjust your throttle valve cable and then you can set it where you like the truck to shift at. Great kit but you may lose some downshifting or upshifting if not adjusted right.

what about just dropping the pan and turning up the line pressure a little? i've heard this from a few others and they say it works quite well to help firm up the shifts a little, but of course isnt as noticeable as a full shift kit. ideas?
