i know, i know, another exhaust question... i have a 99 cc r/t and i made my own catback with a 2-1/2"-3" reducer, 3" pipe, and a dynomax welded ultraflo oval offset inlet center exit muffler, it sounds only a little more louder than stock and i was wondering if i were to get a bullit round welded ultraflo if it would be a little louder since theres less roving fiberglass inside. i was also thinking of a blowmaster 40 series, but i would think they would decrease in performance since they are not strait through. i am also thinking of making the exhaust come out before the back tire so i know it would be a little louder then. any thoughts on this? whew!

i have gibson headers and jba downpipes and all 3 cats removed on my 2002 r/t. i originally had a single 2.5"flowmaster 40 series (loudest one) and just replaced it with a dynomax ultraflow 3" round model and its slightly quieter around town but slightyl louder at full throttle. overall they are about the same loudness with flowmaster sounding better at idle and dynomax sounding better at full throttle.

For mufflers, look into dynomax and magnaflow. Magnaflow has pretty good numbers too.

Magnaflow is basically a straigh-thru glass pack. Just built into a muffler body so people don't realize they are just buying a glass pack style muffler :-)

I admit, straight through does flow good though. I'd be curious to try something other than my flowmaster, but I like the sound I have now.
