Hey guys i posted about this before but now i have some more info that i thought you might all want to know, here it goes:

http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=100&Ntk=PartSearch&Ntt=dcc5007381 - this is the manifold i was talking about. It is $270. It says something about carberated on the site but i think its EFI. It has the ports for the injectors....also this is what read in my summit catalog:

"chrysler 318/360 magnum, 1992-up"

So thats that, now one more thing (a new product at summit racing):

http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=esearch.asp&N=100&Ntk=PartSearch&Ntt=dcc5007086 - These are 1.92 heads for our dakotas, $619 a pair. Again straight from my catalog:

"fit all magnum crate motors and 1992-2002 5.2L/1993-2002 5.9L magnum engines."

What do you guys think? Not bashing any of the great dakota performance parts dealers we know of but these parts are much cheaper........

Just thought i would share some info with my fellow dak owners! Have a good one!

You think it's EFI? Even when they specifically they say it's for carb use? Look, before you start handing out advice on intakes, you really should know a little more about them. The intake you listed is a dual-plane intake for use with a carburetor. It has NO EFI BUNGS!!! It looks like you're seeing the bolt-holes (where they attach to the heads) and thinking they're injector bungs.

MOPP5007791 $238.00 Interesting?
Swing on over to Manciniracing.com, click on their online store, click on Magnum, click on intakes, scroll down. The intake I listed is for left-side linkage, but if it isn't exactly what you're looking for, it isn't much effort to make it work, considering the savings involved.

I didnt know anything about the manifold! that is why i posted it! I called summit racing and the guy said it could be used for EFI motors......he must not know what he is talking about.....There are more than just bolt holes it seems, because i see bolt holes also.

why would they put "chrysler 318/360 magnum, 1992-up"
did they even make carb magnums during this time period?

It doesnt say only carb, it says something about carb. Im not saying i know what im talking about, if i did my post probably would have read:

Everyone save your money! Buy your manifolds from summit racing!!!! But since it had the carb info on there, it looked like fuel injector ports, AND i called and they said it could be used for EFI i thought something was kinda fishy. Hence the post asking "What do you guys think?"

It won't work for EFI. Well, not very good anyway. Technically, you can make any manifold into an EFI manifold by welding the bungs in, fabricating the injector support brackets, and slapping on a throttle body. But throttle bodies are generally 2 barrel, not 4. You shouldn't use them on a dual plane manifold.

The purpose of the dual plane is to provide strong vacume signals at low rpm's, and still flow well at high rpm's. A carb needs these strong vacume signals to work correctly. Also, wet manifolds have to maintain high air velocity to keep the atomized fuel in suspension.

If you want a good aftermarket EFI, look for a single plane, like a Victor Jr, and convert that. Flow velocity isn't that important, since it's a dry manifold. And with proper programming, vacume signals are not that important either.

The manifold you're looking at fom Summit is to allow the use of a carb on a Magnum engine, hence the application years of 1993-2003. But it's certainly a carb manifold, regardless of what the chucklehead on the phone told you.

Regarding saving money on intakes, that depends. Buying a "bargain" at Summit, as "summit" suggests, proves only a bargain til you start converting it for EFI(MPI) use. Buying the dual plane that started this thread, and converting it will not be any cheaper than one already made as an EFI.
The late 80's-early 90's Mopar TBI (true Throttle-Body Injector) engines used a dual-plane intake, very similar to the prior carbureted versions. In this case it'd be great in the injected application, as in maintaining the wet manifold style, but as stated, not practical to convert to MPI.

That manifold does not have any injector bungs on it at all.

The heads will fit a magnum, but they are the stock cast iron heads, not the R/T heads that would be considered an upgrade. Mopartsracing.com has the heads cheaper than summit anyway, at least according to their website.

Sneezer, that manifold could be converted by having the bungs welded in. That's the point I was making. The cost of conversion nullifies the savings.

I have recently purchased a 94 ram with a 5.2 magnum that some one has converted to a carb, but the engine appears to be taking on water, i have seen intakes that say 92-03 carb manifold, does it take a special intake for the magnum engine?
