Intake Tube (Intense Performance "Z-Tube"), 180 T'stat, and a Jet Stage-II chip (in that order). Wait on the TB spacer (although they do work on the 4.7L) as Flometrics is down to the 2-week mark on the 69mm Billet TB's.

You can also either replace the factory muffler with a good aftermarket muffler (Dynomax, Flowmaster, etc.) or a Gibson Cat-Back system. Not required first though.

Bernd. Is the 180 T stat really going to make any difference? I will take my truck and run test run it over 100 MPH up a steep hill to test different setups and this engine barley even gets warm. I can even touch the intake manifold with my bare hands. The rad has more dispacmnet than a 5.9 and the temp gauge never goes more than a 1/4. If it is worth it I will do this mod for it's so inexspensive to do.

Jeffster,
Are you up north?? Just wondering. I'm here in Florida and my temp gauge reaches 195 to 200 in just a very few minutes after cranking up. Sitting in traffic it has tried to creep over 200 but hasnt really yet. I wonder if different climates could have that much difference on the engine temp. Could the outside air temp and the temp of the air going into the intake make a big diff? I know colder air gives better performance, thats not what Im talking about. Im talking about it affecting the overall engine temp. I am putting in my 180 stat this weekend. I know when I got my jet chip the paper inclosed with it said that you needed to run a 180 stat with the stage 2 for best performance. Didnt say you had to for the stage 1.

CarribeanDak,
Im no expert but ditto what Bernd said.

Sound good Hawkeye. Let us know how the chip works out. Can you easily plug and unplug it?

I am in Vancouver Canada so perhaps the cooler climate is why I don't warm up at all. Summer is ussually in 65-85 out here.

Jeffster, cool. Yeah it is 85 at 8:00 in the morning here. The 180 t-stat may not do a whoole lot, wont know until I get it on and run it for a few days, but, for $9 it sure cant hurt, you know. The Jet is very easy to put on and off. Takes about 30 seconds to unplug and plug back in. I really like it.
As for the TB spacer works very well on my 4.7. Not a huge HP gain but a nice little torque gain. Works great for me.

I recieved a reply to an e-mail I sent to K$N.
I was told they are not going to produce the cat back systems at all. This may just be for the 4.7.
