Subject: MOPAR PCM??? IP: Logged
Message: My buddy just traded in his 00 R/T (dumb ass),
but the good news is that he took off his
performance pcm before he traded it in. Will
the pcm fit my 99 R/T, and will have to bring it
to the dealer to flash the vin into it? I'v head of
people not flashing the vin in and everything
working fine.... thanks.

Message: PCM's are not interchangeable by year, hence why they each have there own part number.

Message: The VIN in the PCM will not keep it from working in another vehicle. The security system may. If the original owner has a factory security system, the PCM will work work in a truck that does not have the security system. If the buyer has the security system the PCM will work. I can't say about the year cross over though. There are different part numbers for each year.
