Subject: Gibsons dual exhaust sound??
IP: Logged

Message:
I would like to know what the Gibson Split-rear sounds like on a 97+ Dakota V8? Do any of you guys have a site or wav. files? I'm stuck between the Dynomax's system or Gibson's system. I know what the Dynomax sounds like. Is installation of the split-rear difficult?, and does the spare on 4x4 have to be removed or is there enough room?

Thank in advance
Anthony

Thanks Guys,

Jgagnier, I've been to that site already, he does have a nice sounding Dakota. There's one .wav where he does a 0-60 which sounds pretty sweet.

Joel, I'm looking into doing my own installation a bolt on system, without taking it to a muffler shop for a custom system. I do believe that flowmasters have great sounds. But the interior nosie is louder than most exhaust, even with the delta series. From what I heard... But if there's a bolt on system for my application, I will look into it at there web site.

Put I'm interested in finding out what the Gibson duals sounds like!!!!!!! Anyone

Thanks,
Anthony

Anothy, If you do find something please let me know because I am in the same boat...looking for a system myself but not sure what to go with. Actually listening to some would be a GREAT help. I dont want anything obnoxious or with a crackle. I would like something with a nice throaty sound.

I have a Flowmaster muffler with a 3" sound chamber (18" Chrome tip) exiting in the stock location, it sounds really good. All I replaced was the muffler iteself and put on the tip.

The stock pipe on my Dakota was 2.5" already, and looking from the cat back, there were no restrictive bends other than over the axle so it flows pretty good to begin with.

Jgaginer I'm looking into the Gibsons Duals or the Mopar Cat-Back made by dynomax. Flowmaster don't flow as good as the about, it's more for sound.
