BBK makes alot of Mustang parts. I have an 89. In the Mustang parts world, the BBK throttle bodies are not the best. They are OK. I can't speak for the Dodge design.

I have a 70mm BBK TB. I got a while ago when truckperformance.com had them for $250. It's a nice throttle body. The only problem with MINE was that there may be to many hard edges and turns in the IAC port leading to the sensor. Those edges and turns cause the throttle body to whistle pretty loudly. So I called BBK to get some answers and got some of the best customer service i've ever gotten. Polite and accomodating. I'm sending my throttle body in tomorrow to get those edges and turns smoothed out. I'll pay for shipping I guess. I don't care. I was just impressed with the customer service.

I like the F&B TB's the best. Guy that installed my M-1 intake manifold (and had a HEMI Challenger that he drove there that day, SWEET!) was drooling over my 50mm F&B TB. Loved every bit of it, especially the looks of it. Don't know much about the BBK, haven't heard of 'em. For that price, do they require a core exchange? FastMan TB's are also pretty good, but not as good as the F&B IMHO, but the fastman are less expensive, but require a core.

No core for the BBK. Mine was an introductory price. I don't think you can find them for that price any longer. I think they go for around $350 now.

Sam is right about his F&B's. Now they are competitively priced. When I bought mine, like I said before, I got introductory pricing. $250. I just sent the TB back to BBK to have to smoothed out. The IAC port has some sharp edges. This caused the throttle body to whistle pretty loud. I'm currently running a fastman 68mm until the BBK comes back to me. I went ahead and bought that BBK because it was a good deal. And because of the potential for needing more flow for future mods. Otherwise yes I am happy with it. This is BBK's first time doing Dakota TB's so I've got to give them some slack. F&B had some issues with there 4.7L TB's when they first came out. Anyone who remembers a few years ago F&B had some pedal vibration problems in their 70mm. This has since been resolved of course.

It all depends on what you want out of a TB. If you just want the flow with out paying all the money i'd say go with a Fastman. If you want the flow and the look, get the F&B. The BBK could be more competitively priced for not being billet like the F&B. It is still a good looking throttle body though. Looks nicer than stock. There are other TB's on the market as well. Just look around to see what suits your needs.

F&B are the way to go. I have spoken with Sam via email (great contact and answers all your questions) and I have laid the groundwork to be getting a 48MM F&B for Xmas this year from the wife to finish the intake system.

If you read the forums and do a search you'll find that F&B really is the top of the line!
