Has any one tried these intakes?

I'm looking for a new air intake that will get the most HP from my 2004 4.7 Dakota. I had a dual air filter intake from Pro-Zen, but it seemed to pull alot of hot air as well as restrict air flow. Also, the noise of the Pro-Zen was just way too much for me. It made more noise than my Magnaflow.

Thanks in advance.

Waste of money when you can make your own.

The most expensive part was the $50 K&N filter.

I've built a few of these and this one is the quietest so far. My first one was louder than my Flowmaster!
I removed the rubber flap and wrapped my A/C lines with Cork Tape to prevent damage from rocks. The best thing for me to do next would be to isolate a little more of the air path form the radiator. But since I HAVE ran a setup sticking in front of the radiator, and this one, I haven't noticed any difference, even when towing.
Hope this helps. Click on my banner below for all of my mods and experiments.

GraphiteDak, what type of material did you use for the tubing? Your home brew intake looks pretty good. Anyway, I forgot to mention that I wanted to buy an off-the-shelf intake that would be 50 State Legal.

Thanks in advance.

The benefit of the True Flow is that the filter is an oil-wetted foam filter as opposed to an oil-wetted cotton guauze (sp?) filter.

Foam is supposed to flow close to cotton, but filter much better. Since I don't want to get into a religious battle over foam vs. cotton, I would say to go do some research to find out what you are looking for.

Thanks Lurkin.

I did a search, and came up empty on this site. I'll try my luck researching on some of the other Dodge sites. BTW, there lot of Rams with the 4.7/5.7 V8 that seem to use this setup and have pretty good results. Has anyone tried it on a Dakota?

According to their website:

Peak torque +9.6 Peak HP +13.22 on
a 2003 Ram.

Thank in advance.

MoPowa. That is just ABS from your local plumbing store. Cost about $20 or so plus the $50 K&N or your choice of filter. Oh yeah. The Fernco brand "No Hub" connects the ABS to the TB.
The IAT is just plugged into the side where I drilled a hole. Somewhere I got a bad crimp in my IAT wire. Every once in a while, like once every other month, my P0111 or whatever the code is comes on. I'm too busy to fix it right now. i just mess with the connections and reset the battery and it's good for a month or more.

Oh. BTW. On this last ABS setup I opted to NOT glue the pieces together. Instead I used self taping screws and sealed the joints with strips of cork tape. I liked the look better too. Haven't thrown on an insulation this time. But now that it is 108 degrees or so here in AZ I haven;t noticed ANY loss.

i have the true flow intake. I am very happy with it. It is a little bit louder than stock. No where as loud as a open filter. My gas mileage improved. About .5 mpg over K&N drop in filter. Looks good. Better throttle response. Goes along well with my other mods.

Android thanks for the response, I too have the drop in right now, I experienced slight gains over stock, at least i think i did, too small to know for sure, are you confident in saying you can tell the increase in power over the drop in? Just getting picky cause I don't want to spend $200 om someyhing I can't even notice.

Yes, the factory air hat is restrictive and i did notice a small gain. This was after i had already done the HO cams HO manifold and 68 fastman.
