 Subject: hi rpms when I tap accel.

I had recently done the TPS mod on my '98 V6 4X4, and I noticed that whenever the engine is up to temperature, in PARK, and I tap the accelerator, the engine will race to 2500 rpm for about 5 seconds then die back down to a normal idle. Oh yeah, before the TPS mod, I removed the TB and cleaned it well. Maybe I jacked up the plunger thing on the sensor closest to the distributor? Has anybody had this problem before? BTW, the high rpm thing does not happen when the engine is cold. Thanks in advance. Relf.
