Subject: New Here!! Headers ?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi! I am new here and I am tired of talking to the r/t group. None of them ever give me answers to my questions. My question is: Does anyone make a header that is not a shorty and does not bolt to the stock system? I am looking for full length headers or even medium headers, if anyone has any help to give on finding some, it would be appreciated. I have a 1999 dakota r/t (not built yet but am starting) Looking for a junker motor if anyone has one or knows of where to find one.
Thanks!!!

Is there any replacements for the plastic intake manifold? Or whatever the TB is attached to, is looks tacky and I think a metal intake would be better?

YOu might have to get custom built headers if you want the full length ones for an R/T but check with Hooker or Hedman first.

hooker makes the full length headers for a 87-91 dak that will fit the newer daks with ah crossmember mod. but the downfall is you need to lift the motor alot to install them..they can be had through jegs for 325 plus 8.99 shipping the hooker part number is 5803HKR

mine will be here next week e mail me to find out how it went

Figure on a couple days hueing it out. A small notch in the crossmember by the cat will work but
cutting and moving the collector 1/2" may be better. The 727 style trans may need to be relieved 1/4" depending how Hooker positioned them in the jigs that day. They were designed for the 904 style. The starter may be too tight also. After all was done I'm pleased with the outcome and no rev limit for power. Get the
$180.00 coating also. Be sure to check for bolt head clearance before you get too far, some tubes are too close to the tubes and need a small dimple. This seems very complimentary with the M1 4 barrel, PCM,MSD, 14" (say $6, no oil) air cleaner etc. You'll have Pro Stock sound and only be down around 900 horses! good luck
