About 3 weeks ago i bought a 2003 flame red cc sport with a stampede package, with the 4.7. And well what im about to tell you may make alot of you mad. I am 16 years old and this has always been a dream of mine, no im not some ritch stuck up kid but someone who has worked there ass off for the last 6 years to save up money and to pay off half of the car and half about 6k left for upgrades. I have been doing quite a bit of research and put a list togather for mods on my truck. Let me know what you think and if you have any opinions.

4.7L 70mm CNC Billet throttle body
Airaid Intake System
Comp Cams 1.7 Stainless
JBA 4.7L Header
KRC 4.7L/ 206 Camshafts
{can't quite find the ECU i want, any suggestions?}
Because of the stampede kit i dont know what to do as for exhaust as i plan to lower the truck

Please let me know what u think, how well that set up would work, what other things as to what i can do to encrease and put more ponies on my baby. As well as how much hp i should be pushing, any added info for me would be greatly appreciated.

If you are trying to get the most out of your money, you should switch that around a little.

BBK makes a 70mm TB for $250 @ truckperformance.com, thefastman.com can make you a 71mm for $250 I think. The F&B TB is supposed the prettiest. Everyone makes claims on what is better. The F&B is the most expensive.

I think thorley makes tri-y headers for the 4.7L now though headers should be the very last thing you invest in if at all.

There are no comp cams 1.7 rockers for the 4.7L.

Airraid intakes suck. Look into intenseperformance.com z-tube, 360airintakez.com power shot, or roarinc.com. The roarinc.com air intake has a dyno sheet on their page showing an 11rwhp gain. The others might only get you 6-8 if that.

The krc 206's are supposed to be good cams.

For exhaust go to gsmotorsports.com. They have a tru-dual exhaust that is supposed to be the best. I'm going to get this down the road just a bit. Depending on where you live you might want to spend the extra money for stainless so winter road salt won't eat it up.

With all the power you will need something to hold you to the road. The hotchkis TVS is the best and most expensive. Tuned Bilstein shocks for that kit are supposed to be the best around. KYB Monomax shocks are awesome to though if you are going to remain at stock height (I have these shocks). If you are going to stay at stock height i'd recommend hotchkis sway bars or hellwig bars. Quickor will also make these bars.

If your truck has 3.55 gears you could upgrade to 3.92's or 4.10's. Also, if it doesn't have a limited slip, get one.

Your only ECU upgrade may be the kennebell.com optimizer II. It'll give you 10rwhp for around $350. Not worth it in my book after you factor in shipping and all that.

Just do us all a favor and don't go racing that thing around. The 4.7L is a fast truck. Find a track to go look good at. Street racing is dangerous. I used to do it to but its way to dangerous down in S. Florida now. To many cars on the road and fines are like $1000 dollars and you lose you car for 6 months automatically. Not worth it.

If your gonna spend the money on the 206s you may wanna look at the 212. If you want the torque then go with the 206s but if you want HP the 212s are awesome !!!

With those mods you should land some where betweeb 50-60 rwhp. Right now your dak would probably put down around 200rwhp give or take 5-10 dependent on transmission, 2wd or 4wd, regular cab, club cab or quad cab. You didn't say what kind of transmission you had but if you have a auto you have options to improve that as well. If you've got a manuat your kinda limited right now but you'll put down more h.p. and torque than an auto.

The hotchkis TVS will give you a 2" drop for the front and a 3" drop for the back. The hotchkis suspension is good in that it will still allow your truck to perform decently well doing truck duties. But don't go off road and keep your loads to around 1000lbs or less. I'd put the Roadmaster Active Suspension on the back too just top give your rear suspension a little more beef for doing truck duties. These go for about $230. Look around on the net and price them out. It will lift your back end about 1/2". But this will only give you a little rake.

I'm not sure exact HP/Torque numbers on the 206 v.s. 212s, Youd have to get with KRC for exact numbers. I dont think your LOSING torque but just not gaining nearly as much. If you don't do a lot of hauling and towing and just want some HP the 212s are definitly worth the price, even with the increase.
